The microbial metagenome of the lower airways
Dr. Patricia Morán Losada, scientist at the Institute for Pediatric Pneumology at Hannover Medical School, won the Adolf-Windorfer award for research on Cystic Fibrosis. The prize is endowed with 5.000 Euro and was awarded during the annual conference of the Mukoviszidose Association in May 2017.
Dr. Losada received this prize for her publication „The cystic fibrosis lower airways microbial metagenome“, which she conducted in the group of Professor Dr. Dr. Tümmler. The work was partially financed by the Mukoviszidose Association, while the main portion of the budget was contributed by the German Center for Lung Research (DZL). Professor Tümmler’s group is part of the DZL at its partner site BREATH (Biomedical Research in End-stage and Obstructive Lung Disease) in Hannover.
